This stone is known as Wild Horse, and its geological name is magnesite, which is a blend of magnesite and hematite. This stone was discovered near the Globe copper mine in the Gila wilderness area of southern Arizona in the mid-1990s and is unique to that area. They closed the mine only a few years after it opened, thus any material on the market now was stowed away in some prospector's garage. It's been dubbed "Wild Horse Turquoise," yet it's not turquoise. Because there appears to be just one source for Wild Horse so far, and because of its beauty, it has maintained a high value and is a surprisingly popular animal.

Origin: Arizona. Color: Turquoise. Clarity: Opaque. Cut: Facets. Treatment: Untreated 100% Genuine Gemstone
