Orange Selenite is a Gypsum family member and a variant of Selenite. It forms masses, big tabular rods (with striations), and bladed clusters when crystallized. Hematite impurities within the stone give it its color, with the darker orange portions possessing more of this iron-bearing stone. Mexico and, more recently, Morocco have uncovered larger concentrations of this mineral. This has resulted in a significant drop in value as well as a market overflow. Despite its fragility, Selenite can be found cut and fashioned in a variety of shapes and sizes at your local gem shop or mineral show.

Origin: Mexico. Color: Orange. Clarity: Translucent to opaque. Cut: Facets. Treatment: Untreated 100% Genuine Gemstone
