The stone should be smooth on the outside, with few internal impurities and pure, uniform color. Garnet's quality is determined by its cut, color, and clarity. It is preferable to have a tone with excellent clarity for astrological purposes. Garnet gemstones are cut and shaped for decorative purposes exclusively, not for astrological purposes. A nicely polished and cut surface, on the other hand, is preferred. Garnets are frequently utilized in Gem Healing Therapy and as principal gemstone substitutes. Red garnet, for example, is used to replace Ruby, whereas brown garnet is used to replace the finer Yellow Grossular Garnet 'Hessonite'. Garnets come in a wide range of colors and shapes.
