The entire business during the end of the last century around 1998 was kind of coming out to a peak I realized the business reached a point of saturation at the same time I also felt that there was more potential in the business just beyond jewellery," says Minawala. He said that he felt metros particularly Mumbai was facing a major problem with too many suppliers cramming up against the number of consumers. "We realized we need to do something that was entirely different and we entered into the Luxury watches. Way back in 1993 - 1994 starting from piaget, we realized that we had the potential to move watches in the region of 3 lakhs and above. While we could sell jewellery worth lakhs we thought why not why sell watches."

His passion for watches drew him closer to the new business. Since he understood the technicalities involved in the work he took a step ahead in 1999 to create an entire format looking at certain formats world wide. "I thought that luxury was the key factor that would be the future of India. We started a concept of multi branded, multi- store for the first time in India. We took up all the brands of jewellery available in India, bunch of watches, brands, investments, bunch of gifts and accessories. We went across Europe and identified gifts accessories. We went to Italy and found out Italian Jewellery that could do very well in India and we created an entire combo into a format called Pallazio, the retail showroom."

"The first of its outlet with a 13,000 square feet layout on one single floor! It went on extremely well and this started a new mind set giving insight to other entrepreneurs," Minawala reminisces.

He does not attribute any particular incident to be called his memorable moment but credits the entire phase of setting up his newly conceptualized business as exciting.

He terms the aspect of bringing the government to understatnd that excise was not required for the industry as his biggest achievement. He succeeded is in his endeavours in the year 2009 when the govt. gave in to their demands. Implementing the hallmarking in the right direction has added another feather to Minawala's cap.
